Finding legitimate reviews of 312 Marketing in Raleigh, North Carolina can be a bit of a challenge these days. It turns out that they have a lot of competitors who are trying to give them a bad online reputation. Now it seems to me that people would think twice about reading online reviews and thinking that a company is a “scam of a job” because of this, but you’d be surprised. Some people believe whatever they read online.
This presents a couple of problems. It lets bad companies look good and it allows good companies to look bad. I’ll tell you a few things I’ve learned about online review sites like Yelp, Glassdoor, BBB, etc. I’ve been in the marketing industry long enough to know that there is something going on here that is a little tongue-in-cheek. Most people will never have to worry about it because they don’t work in the public relations industry, nor do most people own businesses. If you do, then be sure to read this post in its entirety.
312 Marketing Reviews
I’ve had my experiences with Yelp recently and I’m a little disappointed in this website. I take that back. I’m disappointed quite a bit with these guys. I have several positive reviews on my Yelp page, but they are considered “not recommended” by the website and don’t show up unless you click on a grayed out link. The 312 Marketing reviews on sites like this are in the same boat. Here’s what companies like Yelp and Glassdoor do… They let anyone post a review on them. They can call them a scam or whatever with no consequences. Those reviews show up almost 100% of the time as ‘legitimate.’ When someone posts a great review, they don’t show up. The thing is, these websites want you to advertise with them and will then show your positive reviews. Sounds a little bit like extortion to me. Just look at these reviews of 312 Marketing and you’ll see what I mean. Luckily for me, my SEO guy just outranks sites like this with other sites so they are a non-issue, but most businesses aren’t so lucky.
Before you read some 312 Marketing reviews and think they are legitimate, just think about the tone of the report. You’ll find that most of these reviews have no official ‘insight’ as to the daily workings of these businesses so they are most likely not previous employees nor were they ever customers. Just look at some of these 312 Marketing reviews and tell me that they aren’t from competitors.
My 312 Marketing Review
I spoke with the owner of 312 Marketing in Raleigh, Randy Paddock, and discussed this issue with him. I offered him my friend’s expertise in SEO and reputation management, but he declined. Hey that’s okay, I didn’t get a referral fee. No big deal. But during my conversation with him, I found out what this marketing company really does. It sounds like the job is extremely tough and challenging and the industry is very competitive. I dug a little deeper and found out that other direct sales and marketing firms were indeed putting negative reviews online. Too bad. I wonder if they can look up IP addresses and hunt these people down and sue them for slander. Because after all, 312 Marketing is not a scam and it seems like a really encouraging place to work. Thanks for reading my rant on reviews!
